Clinical Services

CBSI professionals offer focused clinical services to help your facility navigate complex and changing rules and regulations. Our clinical motto is “be proactive.” Call on us to do a pre-survey, or to implement restorative nursing programs or ADL tracking systems.

Survey Readiness
Let a CBSI nurse professional guide you through the pre-survey process. This will reduce the possibility of surprises when the state surveyors walk in. We will assist your facility in implementing systems to assure constant survey readiness by learning routine actions to take all year to prepare facility, staff and residents for survey itself. As part of the pre-survey process, CBSI clinical professionals will assess survey readiness. If you did not call on us before your survey, we can help manage a plan of correction after the survey.

Clinical Systems Evaluation
CBSI nurse professionals will assist your facility with resident-care delivery systems, restraint management, activities programs, medically related social services, Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) completion, documentation systems, Care Plan review and documentation of activities of daily living and resident behaviors.

Resorative Nursing Programs
Is your restorative nursing program functioning? A focused restorative nursing program is an integral part of the nursing services offered to every resident. Under the prospective payment system (PPS), documentation of the specific resident program and tracking the time spent with each resident becomes not only a care issue but also a financial one.

MDS Training
CBSI clinical staff will provide on-site MDS training to assure your clinical services department is fully versed in the latest MDS timing and completion requirements in order to assess, plan and provide individualized care to their residents.

Activities of Daily Living
One of the single most critical documentation components in the prospective payment system is the documentation of activities of daily living. Are your Medicare and Medicaid patients properly categorized? Call on CBSI to make sure.

MDS and Medicare Reimbursement
CBSI clinical staff will audit your RAI process and supporting documentation and provide system training based on your specific facility needs. Your professional staff will learn to understand, complete and document the RAI correctly in order to obtain the appropriate reimbursement under the Medicare prospective payment system (PPS).

Medicare: Technical and Clinical Requirements
A CBSI clinical nurse professional will assess your in-house Medicare program and documentation and provide systems and documentation training based on your facility's specific needs and policies. Our emphasis will be on how you manage your Medicare patients from inquiry to discharge. We can provide specific tools to facilitate this process and to improve documentation. In addition, we offer a Medicare Coverage Hotline to assist you in your daily decision making process.

Orientation and Staff Retention
One of the most serious ongoing issues facing Long Term Care Facilities is staff retention. Turnover is tremendous and it affects all aspects of a facility's day-to-day operations, especially continuity of care. Let CBSI introduce a new employee orientation and an in-service program that will facilitate staff retention through a standardized orientation and training system, which can be taylor made specifically for your facility.
